Turbotax won't allow me to input childcare costs to get the dependent care credit. What could be the cause of this?

Usually because you entered all the income under one name.  Check each W2 and make sure it is assigned to the right spouse.

Or if you have not yet entered your W-2s, it will not give you the credit.   If you have self-employment income you have to show a net profit----if you have a loss you cannot get the childcare credit.
