TurboTax IL State error missed processing of 2024 ICR for my property tax credit

Publication 108 confirms that IL who own primary residence in IL  are eligible for a property tax credit (5% of the amount paid) as long as their income is in the correct range. 250K or less for Single, 500K for Married. 2024 Schedule ICR should be available to complete the tax amount paid, property tax number, etc. and I have not been able access this to accurately complete my return.  Appreciate any help to fix this issue.

TurboTax IL State error missed processing of 2024 ICR for my property tax credit

If your Schedule ICR has not generated in TurboTax you can go back through your TurboTax state screens and make sure you have answered everything correctly.

Make sure you have entered your Illinois property tax paid in your Illinois state return in order for Schedule ICR to generate.

You can try the following to get your form "Schedule ICR" to generate:

  1. Continue your return in TurboTax
  2. Select your state tax return.
  3. Scroll through your screens, you should see a screen that says "Take a Look at Illinois credit and taxes".
  4. Locate Property Tax Credit and select "Start"
  5. Answer the questions regarding your principal place of residence as "Yes".
  6. Enter the county, and your Property Index Number(PIN)
  7. On the following page, enter your taxes paid to receive your credit.
  8. This will include Schedule ICR in your Illinois tax return.
