Turbotax appears to be deducting my advanced child tax credit from $4000 ($2000 per child) not $6000. How can I fix this?

Please be aware if your modified adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than,

• $150,000 if you're Married Filing Jointly or a Qualifying Widow
• $112,500 if you're filing as Head of Household, or
• $75,000 if you're Married Filing Separately or Single

then you Child Tax Credit might be reduced. Please see What is the Child Tax Credit? for details.

If you want to verify or edit your entries please follow these steps:

1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
2. Click on the "Search" on the top and type "Child tax credit"
3. Click on “Jump to Child Tax Credit”
4. Continue through the questions until the "Tell us about any advance Child Tax Credit payments" screen and enter the advance payment amount from letter 6914.
5. Continue through the questions.

You can see your remaining Child Tax Care Credit amount on line 28 of Form 1040. 

To preview your Form 1040:

1. Click on "Tax Tools" in the left menu
2. Click "Tools"
3. Click "View Tax Summary" in the Tool Center window
4. Click on "Preview my 1040" on the left
