TT is not configuring the child tax credit that the new tax bill permitted. I have received unemployment and don’t have a income to claim, however that was waived. Help?

the bill was just signed into law. it will take time for Turbotax to update its software. Most likely those that already filed and are due extra CTC will receive it automatically from the IRS but that too will take time. The IRS has a huge backlog of returns and an outdated computer system.

Thank you, Mike. I’m just wondering if I should hold off on filing. Another issue is, I divorced in 2020 and my children and I are not in the system to receive a stimulus payment. So I feel like I should file to receive that, but then it looks like I will have to amend my taxes down the road to receive the child credits.
