There's a bug in Turbotax regarding Advance Child Care Credit

I have 2 kids, and qualify for $6k in child care credit.  My situation is almost exactly like last year, where i also got both credits in full.  I received $3k in advance (total, not per child).  6 months of $250 per child.  I put this in the advance section.  If you put the $3k for both people (even it says if it's the exact same money, put it) it gives you $0 credit.  So i took the $3k out of one parent, and it gives me now $3k total credit (including the advance)  Essentially my refund should be about $12k, however $3k was paid in advance (the credit) so i should get $9k, but it's giving me $6k.   I can't get the $9k no matter what, if i put no advance it's overstated, if i put it correctly, it takes away my additional credit I've yet to receive.  I have no clue what to do, i'm stuck.

It's a bug too, i know the rules, i had this last year, and my income is almost identical, and nowhere near the joint cut off point.

If the Total advance child tax credit that was received in 2021 was $3,000 then enter $1,500 for you and $1,500 for your spouse as receiving the credit.  Only the total received is used in calculating the credit on the 2021 tax return.  If your 2 children are age 6 or older then you are eligible for $6,000 in child tax credit less the advance child tax credit received for a total of $3,000 on the 2021 return Form 1040 Line 28.

Your math reasoning is flawed.   If you have two children over the age of 5, and you already received $3000 between July and December for the advance child tax credit, you get another $3000.   Not $9000.  Sorry.

Look on line 28 of your Form 1040 for the remaining child tax credit you can receive.
