The property taxes listed on multiple 1098 forms adds to more than I actually paid for them.

When you refinance there are some property taxes paid at closing so look over any refinance or closing documents you might have.

Then if still off, I would call the bank or mortgage company that issued the 1098 and ask them how they arrived at the numbers for property taxes.
