Tax Year Prior to 2020: Selling expenses question on foreclosed home

It's asking for the selling expenses for a home that was foreclosed on. I only received a 1099-A from my lender which doesn't have much info on it. What do I enter? I can't file without this info.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Selling expenses question on foreclosed home

You can enter a 0 (zero) for selling expenses.  That said, if it was your primary residence, and you didn't rent it or use it for business, you might not need to report your 1099-A. (see below)  Hang onto it though, as you might need information from it if you also receive a 1099-C - Cancellation of Debt.

What do I do with Form 1099-A?
