There are a couple of possible reasons for that.
The non refundable portion of the Child Tax credit is $600 per child If you only had a $2,000 tax liability the Child tax Credit will show that way with the refundable portion listed as Additional Child Tax Credit.
All 4 children are age 17 or above. Or,
The children are not entered properly
To change dependent information in TurboTax:
Open your return go to My Info or Personal Info
Scroll to the dependent you need to change select Edit
Make the needed changes
I have triple checked all of their information. They are ages 15, 12, 8 and 6. When I entered each one of them in when I started, I was even told that they would each earn me a CTC. I make less than the $200,000 max. I should be getting an $8000 CTC, correct?
The child tax credit is non refundable credit which means that if you do not owe the IRS, the credit cannot be used. You may be entitled for the addition child tax credit even though you fail to meet the requirements of claiming CTC.
