Tax Year 2016: Standard allowance for travel deductions

if I click on travel expenses learn more, what kind of proof do I need, it states You can use a receipt of each expense or a standard allowance for all your expenses to report them.  What is the standard allowance?

There is a Per Diem amount based on the location to which you traveled.  This would be considered a standard allowance.  You can find the current Per Diem rates for the location to which you traveled at this link http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/104877.  Remember to select the correct tax year (2016) from the drop down menu.  Also please see this  Travel, Per Diem, and More
