Turbo tax says I can qualify for eic yet I'm 66 years old seems to me turbo tax doesn't know taxes

You must be at least 25 if you do not have a qualifying child, and under 65 years of age at the end of 2018 to qualify for the EIC.

Unfortunately that is the tax law.

You are right that is the law but turbo tax gave .e the credit anyway

Are you filing a joint return?  Is your spouse also over 65?

No dependent just a spouse however the law is the law I'm 66 and turbo tax said I qualify for the EIC credit

Yes but filing married joint return it doesn't matter I'm over 65

Since you are filing a joint return, if your spouse is under 65 as of 12/31/18, you are eligible for the EIC.
