But think,of it this way, the year she/he was born you got the Child Tax Credit for the whole year, not just after they were born. So it evens out.
For 2021 ONLY you can get the child tax credit for a child who was YOUNGER than 18 at the end of 2021. If he turned 18 during 2021, you cannot get the child tax credit. You can only get the $500 credit for other dependents.
And if you did not get the 3rd EIP for claiming him you can get that by using the recovery rebate credit in the Federal Review seciton.
No, he would have to be 17 on the last day of the year to qualify for a child tax credit for 2021. He may still qualify for an Other dependent credit, however. That may qualify you for a $500 credit.
