Should I add my pre-paid 2018 taxes to my paid 2017 taxes within the Mortgage Interest section, or does this lie somewhere else?

Add them within the Mortgage Interest section, as long as they were paid in 2017.

1. Click Federal on the left-hand side menu.

2. Click Deductions & Credits across the top.

3. Scroll down to Your Home and click Show more.

4. Click Start or Revisit by Property (Real Estate) Taxes.
