We currently run a business in the garage/loft in a separate building next to our home. We were advised to move our business to a separate address for tax purposes. Are there substantial tax benefits for a C Corp to have a separate business address rather than operate a business on home property or expenses of owning or renting a separate building a wash compared to possibly losing the homeowners tax credit when we sell our home? For reference, we depreciate the garage thru the business.
