Sched E vehicle deductions for rental properties not adding up

Running TurboTax desktop on Mac. Imported successfully from 2024. Working on income properties. Confused about vehicle expenses. For each property, TT collects input and then reports the vehicle expenses for my 1993 truck that I've owned since 2008. Likewise for my 2021 Mustang MachE that I purchased used on 2/15/2025 and started using for business at that time. On the last screen dealing with vehicle expenses for a given property, it shows total expenses for each vehicle. BUT when I press CONTINUE, it show a screen that summarizes income/expenses and shows 2024 for comparison. On that screen the vehicle expense total is not the sum of the two vehicle deductions shown on the previous screen. It appears that, for the three properties I've entered so far, I'm only getting 43% of the deduction previously stated for the Mustang. Do you know why?

For 2025 you are allowed to take 40% in bonus depreciation.  However, in order to qualify for bonus depreciation you income has to exceed the allowed deduction.  Otherwise, you are going to take depreciation over five years for your vehicles.

I figured out why the vehicle deduction numbers where different on different TT Interview screens.  The initial screens where you enter the data for each vehicle show the total deduct effect for the vehicle, including depreciation.  However, the summary screen for the property that shows up after all vehicles are entered only shows the deductions that go on Schedule E line 6 (vehicle expenses) and NOT the depreciation for the vehicles, which goes on line 18 (added onto building and other capital depreciation.)  So, I was getting the depreciation deduction all along.  The consistent 43% difference was a red herring, based on my specific circumstances.  It threw me for a loop!
