If married filing separately AND married living separately, will TurboTax handle Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits? TT error is ambiguous as to whether TT inability to handle these credits for married living separately (which is a problem TT should fix) applies to all filing statuses or select filing statuses. It doesn't make sense that this failure on the part of TT to handle this credit for married living separately would occur for married filing separately and I'd like to know before I spend any more time trying to use TT.

Please clarify your question with more information about which type of energy credit you are trying to claim and what you are seeing onscreen so that you do not think the program is working properly. Are there error messages or do you simply not get the credit you were expecting?
You can also consider sharing a diagnostic copy of your tax return so someone can take a closer look.
The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.
If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version (Deluxe, Premier, etc.) of TurboTax you are using in a follow-up thread.

Yes, you can use TurboTax to process your energy credits if you are filing married-separate and living separate. I prepared a mock return as such and had no trouble applying for the energy credit.
