There are plenty of discussions on this forum regarding the software bug causing Turbo Tax to incorrectly populate the Residential Energy Credit Form 5695. I understand a fix is supposedly coming on Mar 6 but I have to say this is unacceptable and the way Intuit has handled it is horrendous. They should be emailing all their customers informing them of this bug. I wonder how many have filed and not received the credit because they incorrectly thought they didn't qualify for the credit because the software incorrectly told them so. The help staff was woefully unprepared as well. The person I spoke to had no knowledge of it and I could tell they were searching in the same forums I had just spent an hour in. I finally asked if they were either going to notify us somehow when the bug fix was available and all I got was no they have no way to do that. They certainly have a way to tell me I got a new badge and send me marketing materials but they can't let me know about updates?! Then they had the gall to "close" my ticket as if it had been resolved because he could not do anything for me. They certainly were able to notify me the ticket was closed and ask me to fill out a survey but not when the fix was available. SMH This has been my most awful software experience ever (and I am a SharePoint user lol) and their customer service was useless. I have spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong when I should have had my taxes filed days ago. Is Intuit going to pay me interest on my delayed refund?
And this all occurred AFTER I already had fought with Turbo Tax online for hours trying to figure out how to go back and modify my State return after entering review mode only to learn you couldn't (actually I lie, you could edit. Just needed to clear everything and re-enter it. My bad SMH.) So I had to purchase the desktop version instead and re-enter everything again anyway.
I will never use Turbo Tax again. They are completely and totally incompetent.

OK, I kept getting messages that taxes had been rejected because of 5695. I was told by TT that a fix would be ready by 13 Feb. I waited until 14 Feb, deleted the form 5695 & answered the questions. When I went to forms, the form was still not correct. From previous TT conversation I learned I could change the answers on the form by clicking "Quick Access". I did that & everything looked good. I ran the review and everything came up good. I filed the taxes and got a response from TT that they had been accepted by federal and state. Here it is 3 weeks later & I check the IRS website Refund Tracker and they say they have received but it still hasn't been approved. IRS website says it could take up to 3 weeks to get a refund even filing on line.
Just wondering if anyone else has filed and still waiting for a refund for 3 weeks??
I filed other taxes without a 5695 on 20 Feb and had a refund on the 27th.
Most efiled returns take 21 days to process. Usually when there's an issue with your refund or the IRS is requesting more information. When you look up your refund online, it'll have a notice or more information about it. This page gets updated every 24 hours. You can visit the following IRS links for more information:
