Reporting Child and Dependent Care Credit - childcare expenses paid in a foreign country

I went out of the country for 3 months for business and paid for childcare for my daughter. The childcare provider is a person and doesn't have an SSN or ITIN. How can I show the expense on my individual tax return (I assume that I need to file the form 2441 with the 1040)? Will I be able to type "LAFCP" on the SSN section while filing my upcoming 2025 individual tax return with TurboTax?

Yes, you will be able to enter LAFCP for the provider's tax ID. On the screen where you enter the provider information, at the top where it asks for the tax ID number, you can select EIN, Social Security number, or Other. Select Other. Then for the type of provider select Individual and "Foreign provider." TurboTax will insert LAFCP in the space for the provider's tax ID on Form 2441.

When entering the foreign care provider's address, for the state select "Foreign or U.S. Territory" at the very bottom of the drop-down list. Leave the Zip code blank.
