Remove child from earned income credit

If you and the custodial parent has an agreement (Form 8832) and you are claiming the child's exemption, be sure to answer the interview questions carefully regarding the child. If this is the case, you may be eligible for the Child Tax Credit, but you cannot use the child for the Earned Income Credit.
