Why can’t I enter my real estate taxes paid?
To enter your Real Estate Taxes in TurboTax:
- Go to Deductions And Credits
- Under Your Home go to Property Taxes select Start or Update.
Follow prompts to enter your information.

Why can’t I enter my real estate taxes paid?
I followed the sequence of prompts referenced, but the program will not accept input into either the first or second entry field. It will accept entered information into the foreign Real Estate Tax field, but that does not help me.
I have even tried Uninstalling and Reinstalling the TurboTax program, but to no avail.
How can I get the Tax amount entered into the field for my Primary Home?
(As a note, I have no mortgage to link it to.)

I bet you have a hidden field from last year ... click or double click that entry field to activate the hidden list.

Why can’t I enter my real estate taxes paid?
You were exactly correct - there was a hidden supporting file. However, I was still having problems with either the click or double-click on the field and even the Cntl + I didn't seem to be working. I then recalled that the Supporting Docs can be accessed from the EDIT pulldown ab]nd was able to resolve the problem. Thanks again for your insight.
