When will the foreign tax credit form be ready in 2022?

Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit will be available on 02/24/2022.

Federal Individual Form Availability

To be eligible for the Foreign Tax Credit, you must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien or a U.S. nonresident alien who is a full-year resident of Puerto Rico.

You must have paid, accrued, or owe taxes on foreign income that is also subject to U.S. income tax. This foreign tax must be an income tax or a tax in lieu of an income tax that is imposed on you and is a legal and actual foreign tax liability.

Has the release date for this form been changed to 3/31? It does not appear to be available. Is there a reason it will only be available two weeks before the filing deadline?

Form 1116 will be ready on 03/03 unless it involves a  Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule, which won't be available until 03/31. This information can be found here.
