Parent Died

My mother was my dependent for over 14 years.  She lived with me until she passed away in October 2019.  Can I still claim her as a dependent?

Parent Died

Yes, on your 2019 tax return you can claim her as a dependent, assuming that she would be eligible to be your dependent in 2019.  When entering her personal information, make sure you indicate that she passed away and the date of her passing in 2019.

Yes.  If your dependent died during the year and you otherwise qualify to claim an exemption for the dependent, you can still claim the exemption.
