Was a tax reporting form issued for this transfer ? If so what form and what is the code in box 7?

That's the thing, there was no transfer. I think the question is worded incorrectly. I never received a HSA from a spouse so I'm trying to answer the question correctly but it's asking me for information for a situation that's never occurred

I think you are correct ... if you did not inherit an HSA then say no and move on.
