Select the right option for your circumstances and follow the steps.

• If you have not filed your return, you need to add the 1095-A and the program will complete the 8962.
  • What is tax form 1095-A?
  • What if a family member is on my Marketplace plan but is not listed on 2019 my tax return?
  • Where do I enter my 1095-A?
• If you have already filed your return and received an IRS letter, then you need to follow other steps.
  1. Log into  your return
  2. Select that you want to add a state - this lets you into the program without the amend process starting.
  3. In the top right corner, locate the Magnifying glass/search  box 
  4. enter the exact words 1095a
  5. Select the first entry Jump to 1095a
  6. Fill in the 1095a information
  7. print and mail the 8962

My 2019 tax return has still yet to be filed due to form 8962 not being completed. I do have  the 1095 A form but need help filling out the 8962 form.

Start the amendment process  then enter the 1095-A to populate the 8962 then use the print center to print the 8962 to mail to the IRS as directed on the notice.

-IRS HAS NOT ACCEPTED MY TAX RETURN DUE TO IRS TAX FORM 8962 NOT COMPLETED. 

-TURBO TAX SAYS FORM 8962 IS NOT NEEDED BY IRS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LAW WE HAVE TO HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE. THIS IS INCORRECT IRS NEEDS 8962 OR TAX RETURN IS NOT COMPLETE!

- TURBO TAX FORGOT THAT FORM 8962 NOT ONLY SHOWS INFORMATION FROM 1095-A  BUT ALSO SHOW INFOMATION FROM FORM1095-B

HELP! I NEED THIS FORM COMPLETED NOW! I HAVE 1095-B I NEED TO ENTER BEFORE IRS ACCEPTS MY TAX RETURN AS COMPLETE!

@VGNM A Form 1095-B is not entered on a tax return.

If you also received health insurance through one of the state Marketplace Exchanges you would have received a Form 1095-A.  The 1095-A IS required to be entered on a federal tax return.  Once the1095-A is entered the Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit will be created and populated and is part of your federal tax return.

To enter your Form 1095-A -

• Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
• Click on Deductions and Credits
• Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
• Scroll down to Medical
• On Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A), click the start or update button

Or enter 1095-a in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to 1095-a

I need help I think I filled out the form for my 2020   But I need Help with form 8962 for 2019. I thought I filled it all out but never received a finished or anything else

@DebWainwright  Look at your printed or saved copy of your 2019 return.

If you entered a 1095-A, TurboTax prepares Form 8962 for you and it would be included in your return.

A recent update to Turbotax for Mac has stopped moving line 29 on Form 8962 to line 2 on Schedule 2.  Can you please fix that.
