EV TAX credit if my income was below the limit last year

Hi,

I have had 50k income in 2022 and going to have 170k income this year. I am clearly not qualified for an EV tax credit(I should make less than 150k to be qualified). However, based on the following form in the IRS it seems like I can still claim the credit if I buy Qualified EV this year because I made less last year.
"You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your modified AGI is below the threshold in 1 of the two years, you can claim the credit. "
Can anyone help me if I am misunderstanding something here?
If The answer is yes where in the form I have to mention that I made 50k in 2022?

You are interpreting correctly.  However, the credit will be claimed on your 2023 return not your 2022 return. Next year's forms will have the options you describe.  Be sure to review all the qualifications for the credit including the changes related to purchases after Apr 18, 2023 (link here).
