I own my own business and have clothing used specifically for work. Can I claim expenses like detergent and appliance costs?

Yes, you can deduct the expenses of cleaning and laundering business-use uniforms.  You would be able to expense detergent and appliances but be very careful because if you are audited you must have proof that your expenses were used exclusively for business purpose or you have records to show personal vs business use.
