I need some guidance on HSA expenses. I have heard that vitamins and supplements can now be considered qualified expenses for HSAs, but I can't find any definite information for my 2024 taxes. I'll need to calculate this before the end of the year. In advance, thank you for your help!

I'm not aware of any recent changes. Qualified medical expenses for HSA reimbursement are generally expenses that would be deductible as described in publication 502. Vitamins and other supplements are allowable if they are recommended by a medical provider to treat a specific disease or condition (a prescription is not necessary, but the recommendation should be documented in a way that you could show it if you were audited). Vitamins and supplements for general health are not allowable for an HSA. See question 14,
