A few weeks ago I'd entered all my information and performed the Federal Review and all was well. I returned recently to file the taxes and Turbo Tax performed an update. After the update the Federal Review showed problems with Form 5695. Specifically that an address was entered into line 21c but the boxes in 21a and 21b were not checked. I deleted the form went through back through step-by-step to re-enter the information including answering yes to the questions related to boxes 21a and 21b. I then performed the review again and it had the same problem. I contacted technical support and was told to override the values in 21a and 21b, which I did (even though it gave several warnings), however it still did not include the energy credit to my balanced owed. At this point my call to tech support was lost. Please investigate and fix this bug.

There's a potential calculation error has been identified on the federal return related to the Form 5695, Energy Efficient Home Improvement section, specifically the Enabling Property group.

Me too
I'm having the same problem with 5695.
Had similar occur. All was fine and my return was ready to file, now comes a new update and it eliminated the responses to 21a and 21b and said to fix the error I should change the address in 21c to blank. Going through again my 30% credit for hybrid hot water heat pump tank was eliminated. Appears there is a bug in whoever updated this form. Will need to delay filing because of this bug and a potential $2000 error. Please review and repair this update error.
Deleted and resubmitted form without benefit. Quit TT and restarted computer, no new updates as just updated and no change in issue. Went back and deleted 5695 again and for some reason it worked this time and shows my credit. So not sure what the issue was - could be related to the cache. Will see if it sticks for a while before filing my return at this point given the delays others seem to have had. If you had not tried deleting the form, quoting TT and then restarting the computer, re-opening TT and adding back Form 5695 via the Easy Step Update, it worked for me for this minute.
Unfortunately, @amgrobman fix did not work for me, problem still exists.
Same. We use the online version. We deleted the form, tried Chrome browser, called tech support, stepped through the problem. I found several other earlier posts that were resolved by TT support all for desktop version. No solution offered by tech support. They said they will open a formal request. Meanwhile we can’t file our tax return, so we may just say good riddance to TT and take our business HRB.

Same problem here. Hope they fix this soon because it sure would be nice to have that refund sooner rather than later. After my fiasco trying to initially use the online version this is just additional aggravation caused to me by TurboTax. I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to edit my state taxes after I entered the review process only to find out you cannot in the online version. So I purchased the desktop version only to run into this bug which caused me another couple hours trying to figure out what was wrong. I started my taxes several days ago and should have been finished and filed in just a few hours instead I have spent hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong only to find out both times that it was not my fault but was because of TurboTax's incompetence.
I've identified another glitch in TurboTax 2025 desktop version for Form 5695. For line 31, Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit Limit Worksheet, the form is supposed to auto-fill the amount from Form 1040, line 18, into the first line of the worksheet but it does not. This auto-fill function can not be over-written manually. Due to this auto-fill glitch, the tax credit for 5695 ends up being calculated as zero. I have worked with 3 different TurboTax support "experts"--whose assistance was riddled with glitches and errors--none of whom have been able to verify, escalate, or solve the problem. After 4 hours of effort to determine the cause and attempt to get it fixed, I am ready to throw in the towel on TurboTax. I will await the "fix" that is apparently due on March 6 and see if it solves this problem. If it doesn't, I'll print my forms, fill them out manually, mail them in, and stop using TurboTax in the future.
Mine was sent with incorrect answers in lines 17 ABC. Opposite of what I actually put in. (I went back and printed out those pages and compared them to what they sent). Sadly I am now in limbo because I was so tired of it all I did not look at every line of what they were sending first. But I should not have to.
I came here looking to see if others are still having problems with 5695 after today's update. While 29h is now correct, I am seeing exactly the same bug you are - line 31 does not populate so the form is still incorrect.
Line 31 on Form 5695 is populating in my test return. The amount comes from Lines A, B and C right above. You could delete the form and step through the interview again to let it repopulate.

My form 5695 is now--finally--populating correctly and the amount of the credit is now auto-filling into Schedule 3 as it should.
I'm relieved that it's working but I'll never get back the 4-1/2 hours of work it took to get to this point. I guess I know now that this blog is the best place to get answers to difficult questions, NOT the online Chat function nor the phone support. Those were both a waste of time---of the four people I interacted with, none had an appropriate or knowledgeable solution to this issue.
And, of course, this never should have happened in the first place. Even the most basic testing of the software should have illuminated this glitch. H&R Block software didn't have this problem--I'll be giving them my dollars next year!
It's after 03/06/2026 and this issue is NOT FIXED!!!!!!!!
I'm getting the same error.
