Parents vs foster parents
Our child was taken on June 17 of last year, (we are about to get her back thankfully), but the foster parents claim they have more right to file on our child then we do. We had her 6 months and 17 days, they had her 6 months and 13 days. Who has the right to claim her?

One of the qualifications to claim a dependent is that the child must have lived with you for more than half the year.
If the child lived with you until June 17, that is only 5 months (January, February, March, April, and May) plus 17 days in June. The 17 days in June do not count for the whole month.

Count again. You had the child for five months and 17 days.
