You missed something in MY INFO.
Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
If your dependent was a full-time college student, make sure you were careful on the MY INFO screen for “Uncommon situations” and that you indicated there that they were a student.
did not miss anything in my info everything is accurate
Sometimes it helps to just delete your dependent and start over by entering the dependent again. When you do that, go slowly and carefully through all the screens. Read every screen top to bottom. If he is a full-time student under the age of 24 then you should be getting the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents on your tax return.
Try deleting him then re add him. That usually clears something out that’s stuck.
DELETED AND RE ADDED STILL SAYS YOU QUALIFY END OF ADDING BACK BUT IN END REVIEW SAY NOT QUALIFIED
I don’t know where you are seeing not qualified. Could it be for the Child Tax Credit or another credit? Did you check on the actual 1040 return?
Before filing, You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return
Look at your Form 1040. What -- if anything--- is on line 19?
in "deductions and credits" "i'll choose what I work on", on line"
Child and Other Dependents Tax Credit Learn More" says 0$ last year 500$
when I press update it states
Good News! XXXX Qualified You for a Tax Break
form 1040 line 19 is blank
ok I opened opened form 8812 and see where the problem is..

What was wrong on the 8812? It may help someone else.
