Only 1 of my 2 children got child tax-credit and the other got dependent credit. Both met all requirements. Income is 88000 MFS, wife's is 30,000. Why did this happen?

The Child Tax Credit is based on the age of the child.
If the child turns 17 during the year, they only qualify for Other Dependent Credit of $500, not the Child Tax Credit of $2,000.

Review the information in the Personal Info section of TurboTax for the dependent that was checked as the Other Dependent.
