I am due for a refund, but not understanding why the credit applied in 2020 and not 2021 (had refund in 2020 as well).

Can you provide some more details?   Which credit are you referring to; it looks like your question may have been cut off..

It sure was! Child and Dependent Care Credit is the one that drops to zero on the review screen; it’s $305 in the Dependent Care Credit section of Deductions and Credits. 2020 had $262 on both pages but 2021 it seems to drop on the review.

Thank you!

Are you able to view how the credit was computed or not computed on IRS form 2441 in the tax return?  The credit should be found on line 10 of IRS form 2441.

The IRS 1040 Federal tax return can be viewed at Tax Tools / Print Center / Print, save or preview this year's return.

Your 2021 Federal 1040 tax return can be viewed at Tax Tools / Tools / View Tax Summary / Preview my 1040.

Thanks that helped! So it looks like it is now a non-refundable credit. Maybe a change from last year but won’t worry about it.
