Normally you cannot take mileage from your home to your first place of business--this is considered commuting.

However, since your home is your principal place of business you can deduct the mileage from your home to the job site and back again.

If you are using TurboTax Online, you will need to use the Self-Employed version in order to enter any expenses, including mileage, for your business.

If you are using the CD/Download version of TurboTax you can use the Deluxe version or higher.
