If a car is in my child's name and I paid the taxes, can i claim the deduction on my return?
My daughter drives a car that is registered to her name. However, I paid her property tax bill since she is a college student and is still a dependent on my return. Can I claim the deduction on my return if the bill was addressed to her name but i paid her vehicle tax?

No, you may only claim a deduction for taxes paid on a vehicle that is in your own name.
