My wife had to pay an attorney to fight to keep her license to do her job. Is this deductible?

We paid an attorney to represent my wife in a false accusation by the licensing board to try to pull her license. Without the license she would have lost her job as it requires it. Is this deductible under the tip in publication 529?

It’s deductible if she is self-employed.  It would have been deductible for a regular employee but that deduction was eliminated by the tax reform act.
