My wife had medical expenses but were paid for with her mother's credit card. We are paying her but can that be added under medical expenses?

No, you cannot claim a deduction for medical expenses paid by another person.

If they had been charged on your (or your spouse’s) credit card, then you could deduct them.  Since they were paid by a card belonging your spouse’s mother, they are considered to have been paid by her mother.

No, you cannot claim a deduction for medical expenses paid by another person.

If they had been charged on your (or your spouse’s) credit card, then you could deduct them.  Since they were paid by a card belonging your spouse’s mother, they are considered to have been paid by her mother.
