My tax return had the same amount put on it by turbo tax for line 17 & 18, causing me to owe instead of getting a refund. What can i do about this?

What tax year?  Which Tax Form or Schedule?  Federal or State?

On a 2018 1040 line 18 is the total of lines 16&17 so it can be the same amount on both lines.  Did you mean the same amount on lines 16&17?

Yes, 16&17, sorry about that. I filed with turbotax online, and this somehow happened in error. I cannot get turbo tax on the phone for support.

Did you make estimated payments?  You had to enter them in 2 different places to get it on both lines.  For 2018 Estimated payments should be on schedule 5 line 66 and go to 1040 line 17.  If they also showed up on line 16 with W2 withholding that was user error.

Im sorry, i dont know how to answer this question. I just put the numbers where it asked for them. It probably was my fault. I was just suprised it wasnt caught.
