My son was 19 years old last year though I provided all of the support for him not being employed last year .I thought I would get a larger refund for eic.?

My son was 19 years old last year though I provided all of the support for him not being employed last year .I thought I would get a larger refund for eic.?

If he is age 19 and not a full time student then he is not eligible for EIC since he can no longer be claimed under the Qualifying Child rules as a dependent.  He can only be claimed under the Qualifying Relative rules as a dependent and therefor not eligible for EIC.
