If he otherwise qualifies as your dependent, yes, you can certainly claim him on your 2015 tax return.

However, the Child Tax Credit/Additional Child Tax Credit is only for those children under the age of 17. Since he turned 17 during 2015, he can no longer be considered for the Child Tax Credit.

You can likely claim him as a dependent, but he is too old for the Child Tax Credit (and was too old for 2014).

I received the child tax credit for him in 2014

He was in school for 2015 & fully dependant on me
