My residential real estate depreciates at 30 years (ADS), which should be 27.5 years (GDS). Is there a way to change it to GDS method? I filed tax with other folks in previous years, and have been used GDS; IRS does not allow to switch to ADS.

if this is foreign real estate, 30 years is the proper life. but you can't change without filing Form 3115.
