My only source of income is SSI, so in the past
I have not had to file taxes. However, with the help of HUD assistance and a
mortgage, I was able to own my own small home last fall...How do I file my taxes (since I've never had to do it before)? Do I
record the SSI amount somewhere, even if it is not considered an earned income?
Where do I put what I paid on the mortgage, interest, and property taxes? The school taxes (I've
been told I would qualify for STAR)?
What does HUDs mortgage assistance qualify as (it's not income, but does
it go somewhere on filed taxes)? Does any of the finances I've put into fixing
up the house, count for anything? Where do I put the financial donations/gifts made to church?

If you have no taxable income you do not have to file a return.
