Did you receive Social Security benefits with Medicare deducted from the benefits? If so, then the amount for Medicare went over to the medical expense section when you entered your SSA1099.
Is it more or less? Or is is showing you the deductible amount? The deductible amount is the amount over 7.5% of your AGI.
First, your medical deductions have to exceed 7.5% of your AGI. If they do, then "only" the amount that is *over* 7.5% of your AGI is deductible.
