My input for property tax is $1345, but the summary and 1040a shows it as doubled at $2690. Why is it doubled and how do i fix it?

Work through the "Your Home" section again under the Deductions and Credits tab. You're asked for property taxes twice (incorrectly). Leave one of them blank and you'll be fine.

VG - check the Your Home section. You are asked for property taxes twice. First on the 2nd screen that deals with the 1098 statement, and then again on the screen immediately after that. This is a case of where the programmers have backed themselves into a corner they can't get out of now. They "have" to leave them both there now for historical purposes that I've just not got the gumption to explain why, at the moment.
