My husband is retired and does not contribute to any HSA. I have an HSA through my employer. Why is he being charged interest?

your question doesn't make sense.  there is no interest.  if overcontributed there are penalties if not withdrawn timely.

if he's covered by medicare you can not have a family HSA.   

however, based on what you posted not really sure what the issue is.  on what line of 1040 or schedule do you see the

interest charge.
