My hsa distributiins for 2017 are included in my income total. Should they be if it was all for medical expenses?

@oshley2 it's not taxable income unless it appears on Form 1040, line 21. The summary page reports all income (taxable or not taxable).

Ok that’s what I was thinking was probably the case. Thank you!

You're welcome. I do suggest that you review your tax forms before submitting. Form 8889 (for HSA) should show zero on line 16 for taxable distribution amount.

When you used all of the distribution for medical expenses, Form 8889 (for HSA) should show zero on line 16 for taxable distribution amount.
