My employer paid $150 into my HSA on 12/31/21. It was processed on 1/4/22. For 2022, my HSA contributions in my bank and my W-2 are $150 different. What do I do?

The W-2 is technically correct regarding the amount my employer contributed last year, but my HSA has $150 extra in it because 2021's last payment wasn't processed until January of 2022. What amount do I write when filling out my taxes?

In the HSA section, when TurboTax asks, "Did your employer tell you about any other contributions?" answer Yes.  Enter the $150 in the box for Employer and payroll contributions made in 2022 for tax year 2021.

You should use the amount on your W-2.  it is correct as far as taxes are concerned.
