 You can deduct your unreimbursed automobile expenses. If your car allowance is included in box 1 of your W-2 as income, you can just claim the entire deduction.

But if it isn't:

1. Enter your mileage information in Employment Expenses under Job Expenses.
2. You will answer a lot of questions about your car and your mileage.Make sure to enter the entire expense. After it looks like you have finished, keep going! You'll go through a series of questions that have nothing to do with your car, but relate to other expenses.
3. You will ultimately reach the screen Reimbursements for your expenses and you will answer yes. Next, you will enter how much you received.
