Moved for job that fell through, now working in another state

I moved for a job from one state to another, but the job fell through. I took a new job in the prior state (work in AZ but live in AR). I currently fly back and forth, staying in hotels until our house is done and we can move to AZ. My question is can I deduct the travel expenses as my job is 100% in AZ but I live in AR. This will be temporary (less than 1 year). But it isn't a job assignment that sent me to a different state.

No, you can't deduct the expenses. Even though it's a long and expensive trip, it's commuting, which is not deductible.

No.

First of all, if you took a "job" you are an employee, so you can't deduct job expenses. Only Self-Employed taxpayers can deduct business expenses.

Additionally, moving expenses as a deduction has also been eliminated.
