MISSING MORE THAN HALF OF MY REFUND

I was supposed to receive $2,225 for my tax refund and only got $825. I was not made aware of any additional fees. I demand my full refund.

The third Economic Impact Payment of $1400 was sent out in March of 2021. The IRS may be saying you got it and are asking for it again on you return.

Your refund is short $1,400 which is the amount of the 3rd stimulus check for an individual. What probably happened is that you received the payment, which was sent out around last April, but when you completed your tax return in TurboTax you indicated that you hadn't received it, so it was added to your refund.

You should look on line 30 of your form 1040 to see if the recovery rebate credit is listed there. If so and you received it, then it should not have been added to your refund so the amount you received is correct.

If you didn't receive the payment, you can check online to see if the IRS shows you as having received it by using this link:

If they say you received it but you didn't, then you will have to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to see what to do next.
