Medical transportation expenses

I ran into an issue on the Medical Expenses Worksheet, line 9.  Line 9a says 'Medical Miles driven (22 cents per mile) and line 9c says to add line 9a and 9b.  Logic told me to multiply the miles by 22 cents and enter the dollar value, but that is not what is intended.  Line 9a should be entered in miles.  It would help to clarify the form to make it clear to enter miles.

I am making a report as I figured out why the total was not working.  And I am making a suggestions to clarify either the form or the directions.

I highly recommend you review that screen again ... it clearly asks for the miles driven in the interview screens.  You should not be making any direct entries into the forms or worksheets as doing so can void the accuracy guarantee and may keep you from efiling.

And my point is that the form indicates that you add 9a and 9b to get 9c which is not the case.

The 2023 program is still in it's infancy and will require many many updates to be fully functional.  The Sch A is not scheduled to be ready until 1/17 at the earliest ...

My thought is that I was making a recommendation to clarify the forms/instructions.  I have been doing software development for more than 50 years and I understand that the software was not finalized.  Making recommendations of changes could be a lot easier than posting on a public forum.  There should be a dedicated site for recommendations/needed fixes, it should not be a public forum.

Sadly most of these helpful hints that are posted in this public forum will never make it back to the tech team  who most likely are already aware of these issues.
