Why won't TurboTax let me revisit my medical expenses? I click on Update and it just tells me: "Thanks, we got all your Medical Expense info" and returns me to the previous screen.

For TurboTax Online/Mobile: In this situation, first please try clearing the cookies and cache. It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity.
Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example. Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give you options.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, save your return, then at the top select Online, then Check for updates.
Once this is complete open your return and try again.
Please update here if you have the same experience afterwards.
Hi, thank you for your response. I did check for updates but TT is up to date. I followed your directions and got the same result.
If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: (Don't forget to give us the state)
TurboTax Online:
Open your return -Go to the menu panel on the left side of your return and select Tax Tools.
TurboTax Desktop:
If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps:
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
The state is NC. There may also be data for CA but I won't be using CA.
It depends. The medical expenses that are part of your itemized deductions so far are the long term care (LTC) premiums which you entered in the medical expense section and the medicare premiums that carried automatically from your SSA-1099 entry.
TurboTax is allowing me to enter other expenses and it should also allow you to enter them as well. Do not enter the medicare premiums again just add any other medical expenses for your out of pocket expenses.
Please update here if you have more questions.
Hello again,
The only way I can do anything with Medical Expenses is to enter them directly on the Medical Expenses Worksheet form. That is how I entered the Long Term Care. So, hopefully, if I do the rest that way, it will transfer back to Schedule A and the 1040.
This seems like a bug in the program that I can't go back into the Step by Step Medical Expenses.
Anyway, thank you for your help.
